Dimension 1: The Upfront Cost (Not as Simple as It Looks)
Printed manual: $250. Digital subscription for 3 years: $600 total ($200/year). The printed manual looks like a steal—until you realize you're buying one per technician.

- Do you need annotations? If yes, go printed—but budget for replacement. If no, go digital and save.
Our decision: We went hybrid. Printed master copies for each instrument (1 per model, not per person) plus a site-wide digital subscription. Total cost over 5 years: $6,400. Simulated all-digital: $8,000. Simulated all-printed (8 copies): $3,200.

What About Zeiss Manuals for CMM vs. Microscopes?
